The research method used for this study is the precedent analysis of underground space shown in domestic references. The subjects of this study are 13 underground spaces in Korea and Japan appeared in total of 42 domestic research references relevant to environment and space planning of underground spaces. This study can draw the following conclusions: First, underground spaces are in need of block-unit plans by purpose and size. Second, horizontal and vertical network plan which mutually connects each block is necessary. Third, plan to secure accessibility is needed for efficiency of the networking plans. Fourth, space image planning is needed in order to create an easy-to-find environment.
