The goal of this study is to develop an evaluation tool for legalized, specialized nursing facilities for elderly people with dementia, so that their physical environment can maintain a certain level in terms of architectural planning in order to provide a healing function and a quality life. I focused on an evaluation tool, thereby healing indicators being combined with a physical environment, and the two sides being able to be measured and judged together, for the environment to be improved into one for healing. Focusing on this, I evaluated each nursing facilities with an architecturally approached healing environment, in which elderly people with dementia live and recover or maintain their health, in Gwangju-Jeonnam region, Seoul, and Japan, using the developed tool. I tried to analyse the developed evaluation tool as an evaluation tool for healing-environment, through correlativity and difference among the fields as a healing-environment, comparing with TESS which, developed in the United States, is being used as an evaluation tool for healing-environment of facilities for elderly people. |
