Korean society has developed on the social background of homogenous nation and culture but as the country It is a commonplace affair in most countries to concentrate their development on the metropolitan areas. As a result, non-metropolitan areas relatively lag behind in development process and some areas transformed to disadvantaged housing areas gradually. Such environmental change leads to outflow of population in the declining urban areas and difficulties in marriage of the remaining people. Under such social background, international marriages are on the increase in rural areas and small and medium cities, causing many problems in connection with that. So many researches on multi-culture families are being conducted briskly in recent days, but most of them are approaching their studies from the viewpoint of social welfare. The multi-level problems multi-culture families faced with in the field of the physical, economic and cultural environments in their overall lives are not separated but are closely intertwined. Therefore holistic approach comprising all the relevant aspects is necessary avoiding an approach from one aspect. In addition, it is necessary to regenerate both the declining areas and the multi-culture families living in the areas as one unity for the sustainable regeneration of multi-culture families and the declining areas. Accordingly this study proposed inflow of multi-culture families into the declining housing areas as a means for comprehensive regeneration of declining housing areas in small and medium cities and multi-culture families. The purpose of this research is to find in-depth the status of female immigrants in multi-culture families and their potential needs on the overall immigrant lives as a basic study on promoting inflow of multi-culture families. |
