Cities which have been developed based on industrial facilities are inflated due to the rapid influx of the urban population. In this process, the urban structure has been reorganized with a focus on urban redevelopment. Such these developments as the results from the propulsion of overall redevelopment methods, the city environment exposes formation of a uniform horizontal landscape or lack of identity as a permanent abode and other cities' problems. In the 21st century, as introspections on this, it focuses on an attention to create charming and identity placeness where citizens want to stay and in the range of maintenance of spatial-temporal relationships integrated dwellings in the past living culture, it began to appear variety attempts to regenerate cities or buildings. As the content of this study, firstly, to examine the formation processes of the city of Shanghai as the gateway of the modern China, secondly, to look into Xintiandi complex, city dwellings, of formation processes and characteristics of Shikumen Linong House and background of appearance in the complex between 1920 and 1930's in Shanghai, thirdly, to check spatial and formation regeneration of Shikumen Linong House, a residential Heritage, in Xintiandi complex and at the level of contextual city context, variety characteristics appeared in dwelling regeneration method. |
