The purpose of this study was to examine the baby boomer's life satisfaction and preference of housing for their later life. As a social survey research among Seoul metropolitan residents, effective data were collected from April 25 to May 6, 2011. Data were analyzed using SPSS for Wing 18.0 and used statistical method like frequency, percentage, factor analysis, t-test and x²-test etc. The main findings were as follows. Firstly, baby boomers had high satisfaction of their life. However, economic satisfaction was the lowest among life satisfaction factors. Secondly, respondents preferred to live inner city or near city area instead of rural area, because they pursue convenient services. Most people considered natural environments were most important factor than others. Consequently, it can be assumed the baby boomers are not well prepared for their old age. It must be prepared elaborately that an institutional strategy and planning for older people. Proper strategy and planning must be prepared elaborately for the baby boomer's later life. |
