Incheon is a port city. Harbor was created in 1883. Consequently, many people around the world lived in the city those days. This study indicates the activities of Modern Architectures in Incheon. The period of the research covers over the last 10 years. The object of the study is to preserve modern buildings in Incheon more systematically. Incheon is a city that become an open port to foreign vessels. The city is very active for preserving and utilizing modern constructions. In this sense, several activities had been classified into Institutional Aspects, Political Aspects, Research Activities, and People-to-people Activities. Both Political Aspects and Institutional Aspects are responsible for public office, and other parts are controlled privately. Among all sectors, People-to-people Activity is the most active one. Efforts for Institutional Aspects have not met the performance, and Political Aspects have revealed problems. It is good to know that the basic materials for researching are continually accumulated. However, there is indeed no supporting system for conducting the study efficiently. Modern Architectures is the historic symbol of the city Incheon. As a result, the supportive systems in the research of the modern constructions should be established. |
