This study intend to recognize how Daniel Libeskind’s background have an effect in the formation of architectural ideology. In the study, it analyzes the architectural ideology appearing in the space configuration mainly on his early works. The result can be summarized as follows. At First, formation of architectural ideology such as abstractness in absent-space and historicity in symbolic space is influenced the trauma of the Jewish community who experienced the Holocaust and wandered the world to find the place to settle after Second World War. Second, the influence of the music is represented in the hybrid tendency of his design. Third, his special background and ideology are expressed by the technique of deconstruction from the space perception in the drawing of irregular and dynamic lines to various space configurations trying to experimental architecture. As a result, links between the architectural ideology and background affect very complicatedly. the historicity, connectivity, continuity and abstractness in his works involve growth background as the Jew and academic background as the musician. That is invisible, but confirmed though the arrangement, the flow, the axis and the section of his main works. |
