Today, as the importance of the self-driven learning capability and the creativity of the children are being emphasized, the parents’ attention is more and more paid to the spatial context where the learning by the children takes place. As there are more and more of the libraries which just do not end up as the mere place of reading books and goes beyond to be the place where the children may play and gain first hand experience in various fields, along with the places where the children may foster their creativity, the purpose of this study is to examine the kind of space where the children may naturally foster the development of their creativity, as well as feel and think on their own. For this reason, in this chapter three the creative interior space was examined for the environment targeted to the children. In the creative environment, it is necessary for the children to be stimulated in various contexts to foster novel thinking and experience, as well as to communicate. Secondly, the place should be designed to be a place of entertainment. And, it is also required that the place adopts informal designs so that the curiosity, imagination, and the interest of the children are stimulated to give a shift of their thinking. For the children may feel tired easily, the space should also consider their privacy. Thirdly, the place should use environmentally friendly material and be in the colors that are preferred by the children to give the place a livelier atmosphere. Based on this notion, we created an analytical table, and by suing this analytical table, we selected the sample libraries for the children from the search result for the children’s library and creative spaces. The result showed that The function of the space was to create a relaxed, atmosphere by using a variety of experience and arbitrary expressions. |
