Recently reflector type insulators are increasingly used. Therefore, in this study, insulation effects of reflector type insulators using aluminum as reflector are compared and analyzed. Specifically, this study has the purpose to provide basic data required to cut energy waste by installing reflector type insulators in buildings properly and reduce workforce and resource wastes by installation of unnecessary reflector type insulator after deducing the results of this experiment to quantitative data. Experiment results indicated that in case outside temperature is high, highest effect was produced when insulator was installed with insulation side facing outside, and in case reflection side is contaminated with paint, the insulation effects of specimen drop significantly. And when the temperature inside the specimen is high, specimen using styrofoam produced better insulation effects than reflector type insulator. Therefore, reflector type insulator produces high insulation effects in summer when outside temperature is high, but in winter when indoor temperature is high, it shows less insulation effects than styrofoam insulator. Such points are required considered when using reflector type insulator for installation. |
