Accordingly, Experimental studies on adsorption of pollutants have been conducted. However, there has been minimal analysis regarding performance of sorptive building materials applied to the indoor wall. In this study, we evaluated the effects of wall-applied sorptive building materials on the decrease in the concentration of toluene emitted from the flooring. We also examined the influence of the air change rate of a room, the loading factor of sorptive materials, and the mass transfer coefficient on sorptive performance; these effects were well reproduced experimentally with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. Finally, We examined the optimal installation of sorptive building materials by performing a case study.
