It creates the depth of space and shadow. It enables people to perceive the space. Therefore, it enables to experience architectural form and space. Many architects had suggested various methods to create optimum environment conditions in architecture through using the light during the design process. This paper tried to examine the works of Alvar Aalto and to analyze how to control the light in his works and design processes. It will help to know how Alvar Aalto created different characteristics to spaces by the light.
