Modern cities have made rapid development, and urban and natural environment are consistently deteriorated by concentrating mainly on development of amenities. The need of ecological consideration from the planning phase has increased, and it is inducing to plan improved residential environments by institutionalizing and applying biotope area ratio of Korean Green Building Certification System. However, the value of biotope area ratio that could not reflect distinct characteristic of spatial utilization, which is landscape, and growth condition of plants in evaluation of exterior spaces of multi-unit dwellings, can be disparaged. Urban agriculture, which is popularized lately, aims to urban environmental reform through increasing green area ratio, decreasing carbon emissions, and improving self-reliance competence of cities and damaged ecosystem, and it has huge possibility and potential as a landscape element in the way that citizens can practically make use of it by easily accessing. Nevertheless, it is necessary to establish a systematic frame that can apply urban agriculture to practical life since the standard of urban agriculture is not clear, and there are no guidelines for starting it. Hence, this study aims to draw crop indices for revitalizing urban agriculture, and propose development direction of biotope area ratio after examining the possibility of urban agriculture as a landscape element. |
