The significant portion of concrete tall buildings in Korea has the shear wall structure system, and residential buildings have larger gravity load than buildings in other countries due to the use of floor heating system. Therefore, the damping ratio provided in foreign codes may not be directly applied to design of tall buildings in Korea. In this study, the damping ratio of actually built concrete buildings are measured and compared to those provided in foreign codes.
