The major reasons for remodeling works are inconvenience of chairs and poor acoustic performances. The present paper dealt with a case study of a remodeling work of Main Hall of Cheongju Arts Center. The acoustic measurement was carried out before the remodeling work in order to check the acoustic defects and the both acoustic and architectural designs were undertaken which can satisfy with the acoustic goal of the hall. Room acoustic parameters were also measured after remodeling works for evaluating the acoustic performance. Also, subjective listening test was accomplished to estimate the individual acoustic preference. As a result, The acoustic conditions are improved following the acoustic goal of designs, It was also shown that acoustic preference was enhanced by the subjective evaluations.
