The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of zoning, factors of urban planning, on the regional economy with spatial autocorrelation focusing on municipal levels of area in Young-nam province in Korea. Most related precedent researches indicated metropolitan government levels with a macroscopic point of view. However, the study analyzed municipal levels in Young-nam province, the next highest level of economic area in Korea, with a microscopic point of view. Specifically, the study considered the problem of spatial autocorrelation which have been ignored before, and Moran's I statistics was calculated to find autocorrelation in Gross Regional Domestic Product(GRDP). As a result of evaluating the suitability for spatial regression models, the spatial error model was employed as the empirical analysis for the study. It showed that if 1㎢ was increased in residential, commercial, industrial, and non-urban areas, average GRDP increased by 77,755, 446,569, 188,826, and 2,004 million won, respectively. On the other hand, if 1㎢ was increased in green areas, average GRDP decreased by 5,503 million won. These results suggest that expansion of residential, commercial, industrial, and non-urban areas contribute to positive effects for GRDP increment. |
