This paper study on the basic properties of mortar using red clay. Red clay has been used as a traditional architectural material. In these days, red clay is often used for plastering in newly constructed buildings to minimize sick building syndrome. But the reactivity of red clay is low, the replacement ratio of non-sintering red clay was higher for mortar. They had many cracks. So it is very hard to use building material. In this reason, we analysis red clay boiled low temperature. The specimens were made of boiled red clay with various mixing ratio(5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50%). As a results, when mixing ratio of boiled red clay was increased from 0% to 50%, it was observed that mortar flow are in rapid decline. However, the mixing ratio of boiled red clay was increased from 0% to 40%, it was observed that compressive and bending strength of mortar was increased. Observing of total crack numbers, all specimens showed that as mixing rates of boiled red clay were increased as crack numbers were increased. |
