Since the start of the Korean military, the local residents around military facilities have been facing an ongoing problem surrounding the issue of real estate ownership. The residents have curbed their discontent has been gradually increasing. In response, the Department of Defense has drastically reduced the number of troops and military personnels as part of military reform project to create an undefeatable army. It is imperative that the defense budget be invested wisely in order to efficiently pursue relocation of troops so that both the military and the local residents can be satisfied. The purpose of this study is to propose to the Department of Defense a reliable countermeasure that can render both parties satisfied by investigating what both parties find satisfactory and unsatisfactory when it comes to military troops relocation. The study limits its scope to the level of military troops relocation, incorporates the survey result taken from the sample population composed of military personnels and local residents of Jeollabuk-do region for the sake of empirical analysis, and performs a statistical analysis using SPSS 16.0. The overarching method of study was to focus on previous studies to find satisfactory data, and the data was collected from the Department of Defense and each branch of service. The research model performs frequency analysis in order to analyze the degree to which professional factor, responsible factor, effort factor, communication factor, and efficiency factor(independent variables) influence satisfaction(dependent variable). If the analysed results from this study could be provided to the DoD facility department or the group in charge of the relocation project, they would be extremely instrumental. In other words, both parties' essential factors will be highly appreciated and made full use of. |
