To realize the green building has economic feasibility, the optimized HVAC peak load calculation is very important. The purpose of this study is to compare HVAC peak load calculation logic between RTS(Radiant Time Series) method and EnergyPlus. Because these two are popular tools in HVAC design. However there are few research results to review the load calculation logic for EnergyPlus. In this study, the large office building was modeled to analysis the peak load with RTS and EnergyPlus. This study was focused on the fundamentals of calculation logic. This paper was described the reason why the differences between the two were aroused. The results showed that the peak load calculated by RTS method was higher than that of EnergyPlus in calculation of the solar radiation.
