At present, the design temperature of the substation is equal or greater than 60℃(return temperature : equal or greater than 45℃, temperature difference between supply and return in secondary side : equal or greater than 15℃). The present study has investigated the improvement on the standard operating mode, especially on the supply temperature of DH(district heating) water in order to reduce heat loss in the district heating system. Through the simulation and experimental study, it could be possible to reduce the design temperature of supply DH water to 55℃ from 60℃ as usual. The variation curve of the supply temperature of the secondary side according to the outdoor temperature could be modified to have a gentle slope compared with the present standard curve.
