In the modern architecture, windows are widely installed not only due to its benefits on visual comfortability and increasing external beauty of the buildings, but also because of reducing heating load by permitting solar energy to be absorbed through a window. However, since the cooling load through a window is increasing because of acceleration of the global worming, various means to minimize the load, such as by using shading device, is being required. Thus, in this paper, data of heating and cooling loads of five different types of shading devices will be obtained using ECOTECT program and their properties will be analyzed according to the length of the shading device projected to the south and the existence of vertical shading device. |
