The purpose of this study is to provide a direction for making healthy city guideline that embodies the value of health in urban planning process. It is necessary to provide a guideline of healthy cities that would draw strategies and components and suggest future direction in urban planning. This study reviewed guidelines of healthy cities from other countries and literatures in urban planning and public health. Based on literature reviews, healthy city guideline included 8 sectors such as land use, open space, community environment, housing, transportation, healthcare environment, food environment, and atmosphere·water·noise environment. As planning issues of healthy cities, many literatures considered accessibility, connectivity, diversity, safety, sense of community, equity, amenity, and sustainability. Significance of the study is as follows. First, it provides a direction and platform to make healthy urban environment. Second, it contributes to better understanding effects of environment on health. Third, it suggests a direction of practical guideline to make healthy cities in urban planning process. |
