The low fertility rate-aging society phenomenon of Korea causes to increase rapidly aging population and accentuates the need of senior housing to accommodate the elderly. On the contrary, in Japan, Senior Sharehouses are furnished to stabilize the livelihoods for the elderly. Senior Sharehouses have advantage of lower living cost, of homelike mood, and of the second family members. In this study, the introduction possibility of Senior Sharehouse is inspected closely and term definition and space composition are analyzed through advanced studies. The research is practiced for the settlement and analysis of space component like area, allocation and corridor type by examining the cases of Senior Sharehouses in Japan. The result of the research show us that the common space of Senior Sharehouse is mainly composed in LDK shape and that Senior Sharehouses usually have 21~32% of personal space and 19~27% of common space. Space Layout is one of the most important elements for Senior Sharehouses. A centric layout and a cornered layout share the portion 50:50. The centric layout is used to increase residents` opportunity for social exchange and has corridor type which is able to be used to group together. The cornered layout considers that independence is the most important element of the layout and is formed by using gallery corridor type and double-loaded corridor type. The cornered layout would be right for Senior Sharehouse in Korea. Lastly, the result of this study about Senior Sharehouse might be one of the basic data research to solve the senior housing problem and further research should be conducted for the guideline for Senior congregate housing which is applicable to Korean cultural heritage and criterion. |
