This study will focus on the counter monumentality in the various modern memorial ways and will propose a plan of the Korean War Memorial in Panmunjom. Counter monumentality, which have been aroused after World War 2, is the concept of memorial of painful memories such as war, holocaust, and so on. Based on this concept, opposed to the past, memorials of these days are likely to look back upon the victims, bitter side of the war, etc. The study will apply this concept of counter monumentality, and suggest the new commemoration method of our most sorrowful memory, the Korean war. With the discussions of how to commemorate wound what we had lost during the war and division, this study will make an architectural proposal on the historic site, Panmunjom. |
