Methods:: Compared to the area of the space-program and the end of architectural drawing in four hospitals. Results: The improvement plan of space program in Korean general hospitals. 1) A shift of recognition of space program. 2) Transition of topics on hospital architecture: from variable factors to fixed factors. 3) Actualization of the space program for public space and machine/electricity rooms. 4) Consideration for medical personnel. Implications: Futhermore the characteristics and correlation of and between omponents, and the consideration of time are critical to general hospital architectural planning. The spatial lanning for the design of hospital architecture is based on the estimated time of the completion of onstruction, yet the results are not always accurate, or may result in unexpected results.
