South Korea is progressing toward aged society faster than any other countries and Korean people's average life expectancy is increasing, so large-scaled residential complex for the aged has been built. In addition, the aged have been elevated to expert group who want to work actively at society, because they had accumulated various experiences and property while they were working as the important member of Korean society for a long time. The aged are active seniors who are likely to keep a constant connection with society since their retirement, to have an enthusiasm for lifelong education, and to enjoy leisure and consumption at the same time, thus residential complex plan for them also needs change. For the above reason, as the application method of program through community-based facilities, the aged shall be linked with special school for students with developmental disabilities, which it has such problems as financial difficulty and the lack of experts and places for social exchange. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to link students at local special school with the aged people having various experiences and specialized theory as the students' mentors so that they can keep cooperative relation, and to provide preliminary data to make a plan for small-scaled residential complex for retired aged people so that they can exchange with community, receive continuous education, and get temporal and spatial opportunities |
