Today's retail brands find architectural solutions to emphasize their brand characters and differentiate brand identity from that of competitors'. This study is about the entrance design of retail stores that is the first impression of the store and the conclusion was drawn from the analysis of the case study. The case study is done mainly with the stores of SPA(Specialty store retailer of Private label Apparel) brands that are located in the large scale shopping malls. The subjects of analysis are the location of the entrance, shape, signage, display window, and illumination. The result of the analysis showed that the entrance location is decided upon the access and identifiability. The shape, signage, and display window are based on the opening method and their position. Lastly, the illumination is decided based on its intensity by light distribution and atmosphere of the space. In conclusion, the result of the analysis showed that the entrance design influences sales directly with the visual and physical experience of the customer. |
