The purpose of this study was to investigate awareness about housing welfare professionals(HWP) from college students with related majors, to analyze relatedness with each major, and to identify students' willingness to acquire a certification of HWP. This study would provide basic data to develop new subjects at housing welfare related majors in the field of housing welfare, and it will be utilized to enhance more appropriate curriculum for educating housing welfare. Also, the results of this study would be useful information in developing a interdisciplinary major combining housing related majors. The data for the analysis was collected through online questionnaire survey method from August 1 to 31, 2015, and the sample consisted of 180 respondents. The main results were as follows : 1) About half of the students were aware of HWP. When considering the short history of HWP, this amount of awareness seems to be high. 2) A major way of obtaining information about HWP was education at the classes or special speeches. 3) The respondents judged there is a relationship between HWP’s work fields and curriculums of their major. |
