A louver type BIPV system can be usually installed on the exterior building facade, which can generate the electric power and block the incident direct solar radiation at the same time. In this study, the electric power generation performance data of the louver type BIPV system installed on the south facade of the building in Seoul were analyzed. In order to evaluate the electric power generation efficiency, the electric power generation rate and global irradiation were measured from June 1, 2013 to May 31, 2014. The efficiency of electric power generation was evaluated by comparing the daily total electric power generation of the BIPV system and the daily total incident radiation on the surfaces. In results, we can find that the average electric power generation efficiency for one year was 6.8%, which is lower than common efficiency of the mono-crystalline solar cell. It is because of various factors in terms of the partial shading of the louver itself and adjacent buildings, the surrounding temperature, and the incident solar radiation. |
