Currently traditional market counts approximately 1,660 across the country. However, due to the increase of large discount marts and department stores, sales of traditional market tends to decrease by an annual average of 7.8%. The cause appears to be the lack of adequate respond to changes in the external environment such as a market environment and the surroundings which led to the loss of competitiveness by huge emergence of discount stores and department stores of the large companies. Therefore, this study is intended to improve the spatial structure of the traditional market stores by deriving the current situation and identifying problems through literature review and questionnaire survey to the merchants of Garak-dong Agricultural & Marine Products Market, (hereinafter “Garak Market”) who are to promote reconstruction in the current location. It is induced to increase the profitability in response to the store arrangement in consideration of the flow of efficient sales. It also will be able to maximize the composit sales effect of maintaining a retail sales form. In addition, being proceeded more concrete and systematically in relations with various product categorizing by functions, characteristics, and design concepts of the traditional markets, the future research should be able to become a common basic data for construction planning of store space composition in traditional markets. |
