As the user's perception of architectural space works as a significant factor in modern society, the relationship between 'space' and 'perception' has become an important concept. Prior to the 19th century, space used to be abstract and the subject of space was limited to philosophers or scientists. However, with the birth of modern architecture, the concept of spae began to be perceived as the ultimate goal in architecture and in architectural theories. Both visitors and owners' perceptions about places have become an important concept. Alvaro Siza was interested in creating places. He mentioned that an appropriate balance between freedom and control that could be experienced by the users of a space was important, and he created various relations between spaces. This study investigates Alvaro Siza's assertion that there should be an organic relationship between buildings and their surrounding elements and between various elements within the buildings. It also analyzes the formations that are realized through organic relations between several elements within an architectural space. It focuses on the parts of a space where all the external elements of a building penetrate into the building as the elements integrate with each other. |
