This article summarizes the standard test method published in 2015 from the SAREK for rating an indirect evaporative cooler. The indirect evaporative cooler is to sensibly cool a primary airstream without addition of moisture, by means of an evaporatively cooled secondary airstream. The standard provides the standard test apparatus and test procedures. It provide calculation methods for establishing the reliability of the test, the cooling effectiveness and the cooling capacity of the indirect evaporative cooler as well. As a kind of indirect evaporative cooler, the test method is also included for rating a regenerative evaporative cooler. In the regenerative evaporative cooler, the secondary airstream is extracted from the outlet of the primary airstream. |
