This study first aims at recognizing the objects to be preserved without damaging historicity & regionality of modern industrial heritage, and secondly, securing & building up regional identity; thirdly, this study puts priority on the strengthening a sense of fellowship among people who suffered from regional conflict and capabilities of local community. This study explored the directivity of space for regional revitalization through considering modern industrial heritage and future heritage, and the analysis of the history and regional resources of Changsin-dong. Also, this study looked into an actual environment through literature research and visiting research at home and abroad then deducted the elements in case of development. Furthermore, it analyzed the spatial territory & characteristics in relation to utilization through preceding researches. The study results are as follows: First, it’s necessary to utilize the existing buildings and space aggressively. Also, environmental construction is necessary because it makes possible to preserve and reproduce the modern industrial heritage in the light of the minimum structural change and urban context other than physical development. Second, there is a need of mapping for aesthetic change of landscape through repair work of superannuated exteriors, which arouse regional slumism as a characteristic of abandoned industrial facilities. Thirdly, it’s necessary to reflect non-utilized regional resources in town in Space Programming, which should be used as a plan differentiated from other areas. Fourth, it’s necessary to get a space to meet residents’ needs for community participation from the future environmental aspect, and to requisitely provide the form of open space to community. Lastly, this study evaluated that it’s necessary to arrange branding uniqueness to the area for making the regional identity of Changsin-dong Sewing Alley’s own, this study judges that it’s necessary to arrange branding unique to the area. |
