The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics and actual use of the Multi-generational Center operated as the core community space in each region of Germany supported by German federal government. By investigating the operation status, the type of the program and the operation, characteristics of spatial planning, we identified the characteristics of operation and usage of the multi-generational center. Through this study, we are going to derive the implications in terms of operations and spatial planning that should be noted when planning the domestic core community center. In regards to the research methods, we first conducted the field survey for spatial planning analysis of multi-generational center. Secondly, we carried out interviews with the administrators in regards to the operation of the multi-generational center. As a result, we presented the important factors in revitalizing regional core community space as location characteristics of multi-generational center, spatial planning features, funding, securing human resources, program management, and cooperation with local communities and companies. |
