요약2	For reduction of energy use in the building sector, national efforts have been conducted by Korean government. In 2015, Korean government offered the building energy database to the public that includes address, monthly energy use and the number of floors of 4,625 office buildings in Seoul, South Korea. This paper aims to characterize energy consumption of 4,625 office buildings in terms of location, age, and total floor area. The building energy database offered by Korean government includes limited information including latitude, longitude, address, monthly energy consumption (electric, gas, primary energy), year built, the number of stories and elevators, and total floor area. The authors conducted a big-data analysis on the given database. As a result, old buildings were concentrated in the specific district (e.g. jungju district). However, the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) (kwh/m2.yr) seems not related to the age of buildings. It is surprising that the aging degree of buildings and the EUI are almost irrelevant to each other. Accordingly, attention on building energy reduction should be paid to old as well as recently built buildings. In addition, it is difficult to find the relationship between the EUI and the others.
