(Background and Purpose)The number of studies related to eco-friendly housing has increased rapidly with the focus on the social importance of eco-friendliness. In this respect, the aim of this study was to identify the trend in eco-friendly housing by systematically analyzing previous studies on the subject and focusing on academic theses and dissertations in Korean academic journals published since the 1990s. (Method)For this purpose, academic theses and dissertations in Korean academic journals published between 1990 and 2014 were collected for content analysis. Data were collected by searching the key words related to eco-friendliness from databases provided by the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS) and the Architecture and Urban Research Information Center(AURIC). Key words were chosen by combining seven terms including "'eco ? friendliness,","environmental friendliness,", "sustainability," "green,","ecology","health," and "'nature friendliness" with "housing,","house," and "apartment."(Results) Studies related to eco-friendly housing have been the most numerous (i.e., 419 theses). Investigating the trend in such studies makes us recognize that key words of research subjects change according to contemporary policies and social needs. |
