The purpose of this study is to examine current state of closed schools in Japan and to analyze types of characteristics of application, which will be utilized for further base data of closed schools in Korea. Japan the number of discontinued schools has risen due to urbanization, an aging society and a rapid decrease in population caused by a decline of local industries. According to the data announced by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (文部科?省) in Japan, 6,811 schools was shut down from 2002 to 1st of May 2015.Now, 5,943 school buildings are kept, 4,198 schools (70.6%) of whole closed schools that buildings still exist are being used as facilities, 1,745 schools (29.4%) are being neglected unused. |
