Many researches have been done for the acoustics of various western music styles. As the result, acoustical guidelines and standards were established based on the musical performances and the size of the auditoria. However, as for the Korean traditional music, subsequent studies has not been done except the acoustical standard which was suggested by the sound directivity pattern of the musical instruments and the preference study on the Korean music. Thus, the present study aims to investigate the acoustical characteristics of the Korean music hall depending on the performance types of Korean music. A recently refurbished hall was used for the investigation of the various musical types including instrumental music, singing, dance. In order to do this, acoustical parameters were measured at 17 points of auditorium with four different sound sources positions which represent the each location of the real musical sources of the Korean musics. As the results, It was found that the acoustical characteristics were changed depending on the location and height of the sound sources on the stage. Especially, it was revealed that sound levels of auditorium was raised when sound source was located near the floor of the center stage. Also, it was found that sound levels and RASTI were increased when sound sources were located at the side of the stage since the distance between the players and audience is shorter but, there is no difference of the reverberation time at the case. |
