Recycling of waste factory can provide the historical traces of urban industrial development as well as uniqueness of local community. Recently, interests in urban regeneration and revitalization have been growing around the world and efforts to understand, preserve and recycle the value of old and obsolete industrial facilities such as factories, farms, warehouses, train stations, irrigation have been sought. In this study, various reuse methods of waste factories as modern industrial heritage, are analyzed. The 3 old factories in the Seoul Metropolitan, Korea and the 3 factory cases in Beijing Metropolitan, China are selected for this study. The old factories and facilities in those areas are renovated and reused for cultural events, commercial attractions and community identity and landmarks. As a result, for common methods for those cased in both cities, the old traces such as building facade, envelope and its unique structure are preserved and interior materials and finishes are generaged for the reusual purpose. the economic impact and significance of waste water environment are studied and analyzed by |
