The nation`s public offices have brought about many changes in work, functions and space since the 1990s in local governments. The trend is that various services are changing to become available, helping to improve the convenience of residents and the quality of their lives and helping them improve their quality of life. In this trend, public spaces are emerging as places where changes in space by local autonomy can be accommodated, and as places where social activities play a central role. The problems were highlighted in late 2004 with criticism that the municipal government offices, which have been built in public buildings since the municipal government building in Yongin, are planning luxurious public facilities with excessively large areas and too high business costs. In order to create a public space that is desirable for the City Hall, a program suitable for its personality and use needs to be organized accordingly. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the programs and the composition of the public spaces and to use and orient the basic data necessary for planning the public spaces of new City Halls. |
