A large number of idle old industrial land is the witness to the social development process, while the profound historical and cultural background as well as rich industrial heritage are its own values. Due to the construction and renovation of urban space, the old industrial area was blindly pushed over for reconstruction, which cut off the public memory identity and place context while the memory of the old industrial area was being erased. Therefore, this research will adopt place memory to connect people with space. In addition, there are three parts in the main body of this article. The first part is the theoretical part, which introduces the research purpose, research method and research scope. The second part is the theoretical investigation, which concludes the concept, characteristics, memory and place memory of the old industry and industrial heritage, and analyzes the basic memory elements in the place memory, as well as summarizing the principles of industrial heritage reproduction design based on place memory. The third part is case analysis that dissects three typical cases of urban industrial heritage, and discusses how the regeneration based on place memory is used in industrial heritage. Finally, it concludes the expression of place memory in the industrial heritage, which can serve as reference for the resurrection of the industrial area. |
