Purpose: Recently, the importance of environmental and energy issues has become a global issue throughout the world. Its significance is recognized and various efforts for saving energy are being made in Korea. In particular, the energy consumption in buildings accounts for approximately 24% of total energy consumption. Apartment buildings account for approximately 75 of the total number of houses . The purpose of this study is to provide preliminary data for the design of apartment houses in the future by identifying and presenting the characteristics of cooling and heating energy consumption according to the location and the orientation of apartment buildings. Method: This study was conducted to evaluate the energy performance of apartment buildings according to location and orientation. For the study 2 type, 5 floor, 3 location, 8 orientation were selected for input models(total 240 case). They were simulated using DesignBuilder and EnergyPlus software to assess building energy consumption in Korea. Results: According to the change of household location, heating energy is the least used at the middle floor(middle line), cooling energy at the lowest floor(side line), and total energy at the lowest floor(middle line). The total energy consumed by the change of orientation was lower in the order of South, North, Southwest, Southeast, Northeast, Northwest, East, and West. Our results play an important role in reducing the energy consumption of apartment buildings. In the future, we will add cases for walls and windows, analyze the energy consumption characteristics of apartment buildings, and ultimately propose optimal building envelope composition. |
