From a global perspective, half of the population lives in cities, and the other half live outside the city. But we know too little about this village that occupies most of the earth's land. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, China's urbanization has been steadily increasing rapidly. However, in the process of rapid urban development, many cultural heritages with national characteristics and historical significance have been destroyed, replaced by an icy high-rise building without feelings. In the past 20 years, the urbanization process in rural areas in China has accelerated. Many rural areas have lost their unique architectural culture and humanistic spirit in the process of blind urbanization, and built rural villas with similar architectural forms. This paper is not to criticize the inevitable process of urbanization, but hopes to seek a path that conforms to local history and culture, natural features, and folk customs in the process of rural construction from the theory of critical regionalism. To find forgotten values and neglected possibilities, so as to improve the living environment and quality of life of local residents better and look forward to the sustainable development in the future. |
