요약2	Amid the ever-increasing number of high-rise building construction, energy consumption of such building typology has been one of the major research priorities for many. In this research, the relationship between energy use and building height is examined for a sample of 348 office buildings located in New York and Chicago using the reported 2017 benchmarking data. The buildings over 500,000 sq.ft were selected and categorized into ranges of 10 floors. Average, excluding a few abnormal data, of the Source Energy Use Intensity was compared between each group. The result indicated buildings with 20-29 stories used the least energy in both cities, and the increase and decrease trends between each group were quite similar. These preliminary findings include a limited number of samples, are indicative of general trends in specific locations, and further research and development of the analysis including variables such as building's construction year, primary HVAC systems are needed.
