The public space of a good university dormitory can form a number of private domains with different levels of privacy to accommodate the diverse behaviors of university students. Therefore, this study defines the scope of the public space of the dormitory, and uses the theoretical perspective and behavioral observation as the design principle of the public space of the dormitory. The results of the study are as follows: First, the study divides the private domains into four levels based on the degree of "privacy" of behavior. The first level is that the behavior is an individual behavior or an intimate behavior of a small group, the second level is a small group behavior, the third level is an encounter, and the fourth level is a small-scale organized behavior. Second, through observation and macroscopic statistics, it is found that when the public space of university dormitory is sorted according to privacy, the actual ordering and theoretical ordering do not match. Thirdly, through in-depth study of individual cases, it is analyzed that the formation of the private domain is related to the three elements of space structure, facilities and design. |
