The building type change shows flat-type apartment to tower-type apartment in early 2000s. In recent years, the mixed-type or flat-type apartments become more popular again.The more important characteristic is that the legalization of balcony extension had affected building type of apartment complex as well as unit plan. During the early years of legalization, a simple maximization strategy of unit space through balcony extension under the existing unit plan were common.
