본 연구는 도시/지역의 공간으로 확장된 건축공간의 개념을 추적함으로써 건축의 확장된 공간성을 밝히는 데 그 목적을 둔다. 차례대로 물리적이고 시각적으로 인지하게 되는 거주 공간의 내부성에 관해 논의한 후, 건축의 확장된 공간성과 내부성의 개념으로 설명되는 도시/지역의 공간에 관해 고찰한다. 연구결과는 다음으로 요약할 수 있다. 건축은 단순히 방(공간)을 만드는 것이 아니라 그것을 도시/지역으로 열리게 만든다는 것, 곧 그것은 건물 내부의 특질을 만드는 것뿐만 아니라 동시에 도시설계, 조경건축 분야에 속하는 도시/지역 내부의 가치를 만드는 데에도 기여한다는 것을 의미한다. 그러므로 건축은 다른 두 가지 내부성의 공간에 영향을 주는 두 겹으로 된 하나의 형태를 만드는 것이다. 여기서 나온 결과는 다음의 두 가지 함의를 가진다. 하나는 건축 공간과 도시/지역 공간을 통합할 수 있는 가능성이고, 다른 하나는 도시/지역 공간을 내부성의 공간으로 인식할 수 있는 또 다른 가능성이다. 이러한 가능성들은 도시설계, 건축, 조경건축에 새롭게 논의될 수 있는 담론들일 것이다. 특히 최근 도시/지역의 공간적 질과 가치를 향상시키기 위해 진행되는 대규모 프로젝트를 위해 학제 간, 여러 산업의 영역 간 논의를 촉진시킬 수 있음을 보여준다. 궁극적으로 이 연구는 건축의 영역이 도시/지역의 공공공간에 대한 더 나은 공간성과 가치를 생산할 수 있는 이론을 마련하여, 오늘날 도시/지역의 대규모 개발 프로젝트 구현에 기여할 수 있는 이론적 토대를 제공할 것으로 기대한다. |

The paper aims at investigating the extended spatiality of architecture, theoretically tracing the conceptual development and Recognition of
architectural space toward urban/territorial space. In turn, it traces the physical and visual recognition of space as an interior and the
urban/territorial space which is explained by the extended spatiality of architecture with a concept of interiority. The results of this study are
as follows. Architecture does not simply create the rooms, but makes them open toward urban/territorial field. Thus, it makes not merely the
quality of a building’s interior, but also contributes to making the value of urban/territorial interior which pertains to the field of urbanism or
landscape architecture. It therefore has a twofold form that affects both interiority. The results have profound implications; one possibility of
integrating architectural and urban/territorial spaces and another possibility of an urban/territorial space being recognized by interiority. Both
can be new discourses on the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, urbanism and even interior architecture/design to foster
interdisciplinary dialogue regarding the enhancement of urban/territorial spatial quality and value. Ultimately, this paper serves as theoretical
foundations for theorists and practitioners to give better spatial qualities and values to public interiors and to support for the implementations
in today’s large urban/territorial development projects. |
