’장애란 무엇인가’로부터 시작된 연구로, 일반적으로 장애에 대한 인식은 부정적이며 보통 이와 관련된 시설들이 주민들의 지역에 들어오지 않기를 바라는 마음을 가지며 혐오시설로 여겨지고 있다. 하지만 장애란 전혀 부정적인 것이 아닌 장애를 가지고 있는 것뿐이라는 인식으로의 전환이 필요하다고 생각했다. 본 연구에서는 유휴부지인 폐교의 활용 가능성과 발달장애아동의 특성에 대해 조사하고, 자폐스펙트럼장애(ASD) 아동에게 무엇보다 필요하고 알맞은 공간을 제안하고자 한다. 자폐스펙트럼 장애 아동의 작업수행도와 만족도에 감각통합기반의 환경조성이 미치는 영향이 크다는 연구결과가 착안되었다. 기반으로 자연의 시각적효과를 공간디자인에 적용하는 바이오필릭 디자인패턴에서 영감을 받아 감각통합의 치유환경 조성을 위한 디자인 개념을 제안하였다. 우선 노후화된 폐교로서 염강초등학교 지역의 지형학적 사회문화적 조건들을 분석하였다. 이후 노후화된 지역에 활기를 불어넣기 위한 프로그램을 선정함에 있어 주변의 녹지를 연결하고 농산물을 직접 생산할 수 있는 경제자립형 공간으로서 치유농업을 기반으로 한 프로그램을 도출하였다. 최종적으로 발달장애에 대한 인식을 공유를 위한 공간구성 전략을 제시하였고, 중증도에 따른 행태의 변화에 착안하여 공간환경에 차별성을 두었다. 건축설계안은 염강초등학교 폐교 부지에 자폐스펙트럼장애 인식공유를 할 수 있는 새로운 치유문화시설을 제안한다. 결과적으로, 지역의 새로운 문화적인 거점으로 거듭나고 새로이 만들어질 발달장애아동을 위한 치유시설에서 시민들이 함께 향유할 수 있다. |

What is disability? The general perception of disability is negative, and is usually regarded with hate, and a hope that facilities related to it
will not enter the residential areas. However, we consider it necessary to change the perception that disability is negative; instead, it is only
a lack of certain abilities. We focused on the reinterpretation of a closed school located in a deteriorating site, and the characteristics of
children with developmental disabilities. The purpose of this study was to propose an appropriate and necessary space for children with
autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Research results, that the creation of an environment based on sensory integration has a large effect on the
task performance and satisfaction of children with autism spectrum disorders, was critically conceived. Inspired by the biophilic design,
which applies the visual effects of nature to spatial design, the design concept for creating a healing environment for sensory integration was
proposed. First, the geographical and socio-communal conditions of the deteriorated and closed Yeomgang Elementary School region were
analyzed. Thereafter, in selecting a program to revitalize an aging area, a program based on healing agriculture was derived as an
economically independent space that could directly produce agricultural products by connecting the surrounding green areas. Finally, the
strategy for space composition was presented to share the perception of developmental disabilities, and the spatial environment was
differentiated by focusing on the change in behavior according to severity. This architectural design project presents new healing cultural
facilities that share the recognition of autism spectrum disorder in the Yeomgang Elementary School region. Consequently, citizens can enjoy
together in a healing facility for children with developmental disabilities to be reborn as a new cultural base in the region. |
