본 연구는 서울시 도심부의 사회기반시설물의 지속가능한 재생을 통한 보행 가로체계 구축과 보행 활성화 가능성을 위하여 주요 보행환경과 보행공간을 파악하고 공간구문론을 이용한 가로체계 분석을 통하여 보행공간의 특성을 도출하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 서울시의 산업사회 산물인 사회기반시설을 이용한 새로운 도심부 보행환경의 공간구성 방식은 고가도로를 철거하고 복원하는 청계천 사례와 고가도로를 유지한 채 보행로 조성이라는 서울로7017 사례로 나눌 수 있다. 서로 다른 방식이나 기존 시설물의 지속가능한 재생을 통해 도심부의 자동차 중심의 목적보행 공간에서 선적이며 동적 장소성의 여가보행으로 전환하여 보행 가로체계 구축하고 보행 활성화를 시도하였다. 2. 서울시 도심부 보행공간을 정량적으로 분석한 결과, 청계천 하상도로와 서울로7017의 연결도, 통합도, 그리고 ERAM(3)는 다른 곳에 비해 상대적으로 낮아 머무름의 여가보행에 적합하다. 이에 비하여 도심부 주요 도로는 높은 값의 목적보행과 가로공간의 중심공간으로 나타났다. 3. 서울 도심부 기반시설물인 청계천로와 서울로7017의 재생은 지속가능성 방법에서 공통점과 차이점이 나타난다. 고가도로를 철거하고 수공간과 수직적 다양성을 가진 청계천로와 고가도로를 유지한 채 보행이 가능하게 만든 7017은 지상을 기준으로 하부와 상부라는 서로 다른 공간 구조적 특성이 나타나나 기존의 보행 단절된 상황을 극복하는 공통점을 가진다. 또한, 청계천로는 지상의 목적보행과 함께 별도의 하부 천변 여가보행로가 분리되어 사용하나 서울로7017은 단일 보행로로 여가보행과 목적보행이 동시에 이루어진다. |

This study focuses on improving walkability in the city center through infrastructure interventions involving a literature review and
research on specific characteristics of urban spatial structure. The analysis employs space syntax and axial maps to extract the distinctive
features of pedestrian spaces in the old city area of Seoul, particularly Cheonggyecheonro and Seoullo7017. The results revealed there were
two approaches to improving pedestrian walkability in Seoul city center. One involved demolishing existing highways and regenerating
Cheonggyecheon waterside pedestrian road, while the other focused on Seoullo7017, which transforms into a three-dimensional pedestrian
space with functional changes. Additionally, quantitative analysis using space syntax revealed that Cheonggyecheonro and Seoullo7017 exhibit
low connectivity, integration, and ERAM(3) values. These roads include Jongro in the east-west direction, Sejongdaero in Gwanghwamun, and
Donhwamunro/Chungmuro in Jongro3ga, Daehakro/Donghoro in Dongdaemun in the south-north direction. Lastly, Cheonggyecheonro offers
spatial characteristics with water spaces on the underground level and a pleasant streetscape for leisurely walks. Seoullo7017 provides a
unique cityscape with a three-dimensional pedestrian space aboveground, catering to both leisurely strolls and purposeful walks. Based on
these findings, Cheonggyecheonro and Seoullo7017 can be recommended for enhancing walkability through sustainable infrastructure
regeneration. By connecting isolated spaces in the city center through pedestrian networks, a continuous linear park can be established,
leading to urban regeneration with a focus on sustainability in Seoul city center. |
